DSA-JC Application Process
Welcome to the application page for the 2025 DSA-JC exercise, for admissionin year 2026.
If you are applying to Victoria Junior College through DSA-JC, please:
Complete and submit theonline DSA application form (openfrom 7 May 2025 to 6 July 2025), with supporting documents as pdf or photoattachments
Take note of the key information for your chosen talentarea, such as selection process, criteria and dates.
The set of supporting documents comprises the following:
CCA records – (all available records in Secondary school);
Exam result slips – Sec 3 (End of Year exams and Overall), Sec 4 (WeightedAssessment results)*;
Other supporting documents – such as awards or the highest certificationof achievements;
For students applying for our Niche Academic Programmes (Drama Elective Programme (DEP), Humanities Programme, Infocomm Technology (Computing), Science Research),include any relevant supporting documents as per the instructions for thespecific Talent Area
You should get these documents and a digital passport-sized photograph of yourself ready before you start the online application.
*We understand that some secondary schools may not have released the Sec 4 Weighted Assessment results at the time of your application. Affected applicants may submit their DSA application by 6 July 2025 without this set of results. Once you receive the Weighted Assessment results, you may email the results to the teacher-in-charge of your chosen talent area. For Sec 5NA students who are applying, you can attach your Sec 4NA results and any Sec 5NA WA results you might have.
Successful applicants may be asked to show proof of originals of the aboverecords during the offer phase.
Applications should reach us by06 July 2025, 2359hr.Incomplete applications (such as those with incomplete information or withouta complete set of supporting documents) may not be considered.

Performing Arts
Selection will be based on a basket of criteria for the respective talentarea.
Auditions will take place in Victoria Junior College. Note the dates andtimes for auditions. The teacher in-charge will contact shortlisted applicantsto confirm the date and time allocated.
Chinese Orchestra | Date and Time of Audition : Venue : Chinese Orchestra Music Room Format : All applicants are required to perform a piecethat contains at least 16 bars each of fast and slow tempo. Applicantsfor percussion instruments are to prepare a piece that showcases contrastingtempo as well. Selection Criteria :

Concert Band | Date and Time of Audition : Venue : Band Room Format : All applicants are required to play two contrastingpieces of their choice, and to prepare all major scales. Percussionistsshould prepare one piece on mallets and another piece on drums or drumset. Applicants will also undergo an interview. Selection Criteria :

Contemporary Dance | Date and Time of Audition : Venue : T18, T19 Format : There will be 3 rounds to the auditions.Shortlisted candidates who clear each round will complete all 3 roundswithin the allocated slot. IMPORTANT NOTES We are especially keen to welcome more male dancers into our ensemblegiven the variety of genres offered in our dance programme — if you’retechnically strong and ready to grow further, we’d love to see you at auditions. Round 1 Please note that candidates must apply based on only one ofthe following dance genres:
All other dance genres namely, Ethnic dance (Chinese, Malay, Indian dance),fusion dance forms or other forms of street dance will not beeligible for consideration. Round 2 Applicants who pass Round 1 will learn and perform a contemporary choreographytaught by our instructor. This round assesses your ability to translateinstruction into performance effectively, embody and execute choreographywith precision under time constraints. Guitar Ensemble | Date and Time of Audition : Venue : T16, T17 Format : All applicants are required to play a solo piece(not section score or ensemble part) of their choice lasting not more than5 minutes. Applicants are also required to sight read a piece providedby the conductor. Applicants will undergo an interview after the audition. Selection Criteria :

String Ensemble | Date and Time of Audition : Venue : T14, T15 Format : All applicants are required to prepare two contrasting solo pieces(eg musical periods, tempo) of their choice. No accompaniment willbe available. Applicants must have experience playing one of the stringinstruments - violin, viola, cello or double bass. Applicants will alsoundergo an interview. Niche Academic Programmes
Physical interviews will be conducted in Victoria Junior College. Studentsapplying for Niche Academic Programmes are required to produce an additionalpersonal statement/essay, which can be uploaded as a PDF as an additionalsupporting document. Details on these personal statements/essays can befound in the descriptions below.

Humanities | Date and Time of Interview: Venue: Victoria Junior College Format: Share about a book, movie, performance, or work of art, which you findso compelling, that you will engage with it again. Why does it captivateor bewilder you? The essay must not exceed 500 words and must not bewritten using the aid of generative AI tools. (b) Portfolio consisting of a maximum of THREE writingsamples showcasing the applicant’s ability in the Humanities subjects (e.g.English Literature, Geography, History, Art, Drama) AND English Language. The writing samples in the portfolio may be work done for school or externalcompetitions and/or publications but must not be group work.If you are submitting work that is part of group work, please highlightthe individual component.
